Elastics
Keep your treatment going in the right direction
During treatment you will be given elastics to wear to help move your teeth. They may change in size, pressure and the way you place them on your teeth. This is a special time in your orthodontic treatment where you have additional control over how well your treatment progresses.
Elastics may cause your teeth to hurt a little at first. That's because the teeth are moving, which is our goal. Usually the tenderness lasts only a few days. Not wearing your elastics as instructed will only make the tenderness last longer, and tooth movement will require more time.
